Welcome to my website! My name is Scott Bennett, and I am the sound technician for a local cover band. We performed at seven gigs so far. I have been obsessively learning about all sorts of things. This includes loudspeakers, microphones, mixing, stage plots, and lighting.

Learning to collect, mix, and amplify good sound has been challenging. There are many resources available, from books and websites to YouTube videos.

Many have established themselves in this field and share their knowledge. While I am grateful, I am also frustrated by conflicting opinions. Just when I think I have something figured out, another source suggests something completely different. The term “analysis paralysis” often applies.

My intent here is to document my learning and share my experiences to help some others along. I am open to advice and constructive criticism, and of course, questions – I enjoy researching and learning. There are few things more rewarding than gaining knowledge and sharing with others.
